Designer drugs are drugs produced by a minor modification in the chemical structure of an existing drug, resulting in a new substance with similar pharmacological effects. Here most of these recreational or party drugs are the modifications from amphetamine or methamphetamine. There are thousands of different tablets clandestinely prepared and sold throughout the world. They are not always pure, there may be poisonous combinations and there are also many fake tablets. In our lab we have analyzed many tablets which the parents found from their children and many had only starch and some binding material. You, your health, family and money are important for you and not the drugs. Say “No” to drugs always.
Amphetamine
Amphetamine
Amphetamine is a stimulant and an appetite suppressant. It stimulates central nervous system and brain by increasing certain neurotransmitters in the body.
Small doses of amphetamine wear off 3-8 hours later, leaving you fatigued but not exhausted.
This increases heart rate and blood pressure and decreases appetite.
The side effects include:

This increases heart rate and blood pressure and decreases appetite.
The side effects include:
• Dizziness
• Blurred vision
• Restlessness
• It can hide the symptom of extreme tiredness
If you are under the influence of this drug avoid car driving, operating a machine or any other work where you need concentration.
Amphetamine is habit forming and can make you addicted to it. It makes physically and psychologically dependent.
Methamphetamine
Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant. It causes numerous neurotransmitters released in the brain, producing euphoria which may last up to 12 hours.
As a popular stimulant, methamphetamine improves concentration, energy, alertness while decreasing appetite and fatigue.
Women tend to abuse it because it can cause extremely rapid weight loss. However the effects are short term. The body builds up a tolerance to methamphetamine and so after 6 weeks there will be no effect. The weight which is lost is regained when the person stops taking it. It is dangerous to use for weight reduction.
Effects of methamphetamine include:
• Euphoria
• Excessive sweating
• Loss of appetite
• Sleeplessness
• Jaw-clenching
• Alertness and increased energy
• Increased blood pressure and heart rate
• Increased body temperature
• Increased blood sugar levels
• It crosses the placenta in pregnant
• It is in breast milk
• Nausea
• Increased libido
• Panic
• Agitation and irritability
• Talkativeness
Chronic use – effects
• Tolerance (need more drug to get the same effect)
• Rapid teeth decay and fall out
• Temporary weight loss
• Drug carving
• Drug related psychosis
Overdose causes brain damage, hallucinations, delusions, tension headache and paranoia. Elevated body temperature, muscle breakdown, stroke and cardiac arrest are the reasons for death.
MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, Ecstasy)
MDMA is a psychoactive derivative of methamphetamine with psychedelic and stimulant effects. It is a designer drug and is used for recreational purposes.
Adverse side effects include:
• Dry mouth
• Nausea and vomiting
• Agitation
• Sweating
• Increased blood pressure and heart rate
• Jaw tension
• Eye-wiggling
• Teeth grinding
• Headaches
• Fatigue
• Sexual dysfunction or inability to ejaculate
• Confusion, mood swings and black outs
• Short time memory loss
• Insomnia
• Water retention
• Liver problems
• A post-peak crash
Too much of alcohol and water intake can thin the blood and it is dangerous. At the same time if one doesn’t drink enough water his body is overheated and dehydrated and this also equally dangerous.
MDMA is used in private parties, raves or wherever people search recreation.
Related other designer or party drugs include:
• MDA (Methylenedioxyamphetamine – It is known as love drug and is similar to MDMA. It is slightly more stimulating than MDMA but approximately twice as neurotoxic
• MDE (Ethyl-methylendioxyamphetamine – It is similar to MDMA, but makes one calm.
• MMDA and MBDB
Never try this and this will spoil your health and social status. There are so many other wonderful things in life to enjoy more than these chemicals.
Friends, family, society, religion, culture and our globalized world give us many possibilities to meet, communicate and enjoy life.
Say “No” to drugs always. Possessing and using these drugs are illegal and punishable in many countries.
These pills are not wonderpills but are highly toxic poisonous chemicals.
