To my work I had all these drugs in my safe and the concerned authority have given us also the permission to buy them.

All the drugs or medicines have side effects. Up to 10% of the patients may get these side effects. You may have one or another or more side effects. In this case contact your doctor. The following are the side effects and the body system connected:

• Cardiovascular – include high or low blood pressure, pressure in the chest and pulse problems
• Dermatologic – include acne and all the other skin disorders
• Gastrointestinal – include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea
• Genito-urinary – include breast pain, vaginitis, uterine/vaginal bleeding including spotting, irregular bleeding and heavy bleeding and ovarian cysts
• Nervous system – include headache, dizziness, drowsiness and nervousness
• Respiratory – include sinusitis and upper respiratory infection
• Psychiatric – include mainly depression
• Musculoskeletal – include back pain
• General – include weight gain and fatigue
• Others – include angioedema
• The allergies – here you must go to the doctor immediately

Most of the patients don’t get side effects. If the side effects are there go to your doctor immediately. Blood tests may also be necessary because drugs may change your metabolism.

What is your opinion about school children and drugs?

This is really a menace in our world. The parents want high marks from their children. The tension is too much for the children, many are not in a position to withstand this enormous stress.

Hundreds of thousands of doses of tranquillizers and other drugs are prescribed to children. But nothing will help including methylphenidate to increase their marks. The right food, love and time from their parents and the correct planning of the school and extracurricular works and activities are the best medicine to improve the situation but without any tablets.

Talk to your child and listen to your child, they are much more intelligent than you think, accept this and handle, the success will be mostly yours.

In some countries the paediatricians give cholesterol reducing tablets to obese children at the age of eight, nine or ten years. Here we should not forget the adverse side effects of the disappearance of the muscles if there is less physical activity. Your doctor must monitor the situation very closely; otherwise it is difficult to take the responsibility of such treatment.

Teach your children from the beginning what to eat and how to eat. If you also do not know, go to your dietician and learn it at first before teaching your children. We should keep it as subject even in the kindergarten. Could anybody tell me why such programs are not yet implemented?

We must be very careful with side effects because there are no clinical studies for children. So, the experience of your doctor is very important here.

What is date-rape drug?

This is worse than KO drops because here you are not sleeping or unconscious but you lose all your inhibitions and do all the things which you never do normally.

What are KO (knock out) drops?

KO drops are phenobarbital solution which will be mixed in soft or alcoholic drinks to sedate the victims in the red light areas in Western countries.
They are robbed afterwards. The long time acting barbiturate, Phenobarbital makes you to sleep well long. This is a very big problem in the red light areas in the Western countries and many lose their money and their personal documents. The police warn the tourists to be careful in such places.

Never open your purse and never show the whole currencies you have in the red light area and keep currencies in small lot separately in your pocket or bag.

Other sleeping pills and sedative drugs could also be used to this purpose.

Surely you have also read about the train victims in India. This idea is also the same as KO drops. Do not accept any drinks from unknown persons who are very friendly.

How could I warn children and adolescents about smoking and other tobacco products?

It is very simple, make a Family Tree and write there along with other personal particulars the cause of deaths of grandparents and other forefathers including heart attack and other heart diseases, stroke or diabetes or cancers.
Explain the children smoking is one of the most important risk factors for these diseases and their death. Whenever they visit their uncle’s or other friend’s family the Family Trees of these families should also be shown to them with all these risk factors. With this I have experienced many good results in Hamburg.

A child understands these dangers very quickly and keeps it in mind for ever. It is simple, costs no money and to have this information are useful to the future generations also.

It is applicable to all unwanted and wanted drugs including alcohol.

Magic mushrooms

There are several varieties of magic mushrooms that are hallucinogenic and the most popular one is psilocybe semilaneata. Mushrooms are normally eaten raw, cooked, used in teas or dried for future use. These are a strong, naturally occurring hallucinogenic, small doses bring excitement und euphoria, but bigger doses bring hallucinogens.

Psilocybin is rapidly dephosphorylated in the body to psilocin which then acts as a partial agonist at the 5-HT2A serotonin receptor in the brain. There it mimics the effects of serotonin (5-Hydroxy triptamine).

Psilocybin is absorbed in the mouth and stomach. 20 to 45 minutes after the ingestion the effects begin. The effects last from 2 to 6 hours depending on the variety, dose and metabolism. Typical recreational amount is 10 to 50 mg Psilocybin or roughly 2 to 2.5 g magic mushroom.

It has low toxicity, but you must remember always the different mushrooms in the species have different amount of the drug.
