Sometimes iron is supplemented in cornflakes to attract the attention of the parents.
In adults, there is no guarantee whether the increase in haemoglobin is there or not, but excess iron may be collected in liver, heart muscles and in other organs. It is very dangerous because iron could produce a lot of free radicals which, in excess, is dangerous. Note the amount supplemented and consult with your doctor.
